3 Thornback Ray AT LAST !
Report:
Have been catching only dogfish here for the last few days.
A lot of the fresh water had run off so maybe that helped things.
My first ray of the year.
Did not weigh them but 2 were around 6/7 lbs. and one was about 4 lbs.
One of the bigger ones was missing most of his tail.
All were returned alive including Stumpy!

Good to see the ray are back there. Fished a Limerick mark for nearly 5 hours Sunday with only one dog to show. Fresh was still coming down the estuary at that stage.
I had a ray over the winter from north kerry with the tail missing in the same place and the jaw had been ripped out of place more than likely taking a hook out. Probably some idiot angler cut it's tail off thinking it's a stinger.
