Sun May 17, 2009 8:44 pm
had them in a rock pool behind us taugh they cum out better on there belly up pic before we got washed off the mark all were healthy looking going back
Sun May 17, 2009 9:11 pm
when did you fish there?
Sun May 17, 2009 9:21 pm

so, your telling me that there was a handy rock pool with space in it for 12 ray, and after you waded around retrieving said fish in this rock pool(which must have been pretty shallow as you only have wellies on) you had time to display all of them, take a pic and put them back without any problems?
Sounds like BS to me.

a couple of points lads 1st point great fishing well done secondly imho there is no need whatsoever of keeping that many fish in a pool to recover or to keep for a photo we all like to catch and i wouldnt knock any body for taking a fish for the pot if thats what their into but respect your catch and return your fish carefully or if keeping dispatch promptly 3rd point a photo of1 fish with the memory of the rest of the catch is all thats needed imho

Well done! I'd like to catch even one of those. The experience of catching different species is what we wanted. Knowing how each one fights.

I think everyone would have congratulated him on the session if it wasnt for that top pic, which i didnt think was very nice when I looked at it . Anyone who visits the site regularly would have seen trouble ahead with that photo so why post it, the other pic was fine and people would have taken him at his word without seeing so many fish. We all know how hard it is to take pics of even a couple of fish as they naturally dont like posing so well done on getting that many to pose

Nice session there lads but yous have to learn how to take photos, no need to have all the rays on there backs like that!!!!!

Very well said. I tink that some anglers on the west coast have ray fishing to easy maybe if they had to work harder and put more time and effort into catching ray like we do on the east cost then maybe they would have alot more respect for what they catch

if these were west coast anglers, why does the original poster's location say dublin

It dos'nt matter were they are from west or esat all I'm saying is that some anglers have it to easy and most fish that are easy to catch don't get respect as u can see in the photo

To the man in the photo with all the ray delighted you had an great days fishing however the number of ray on their back on the rocks does not give me the impression that they were handled well , maybe im completely wrong and you knew exactely what you were doing but was that photo worth it?
note to all next time somebody says thay caught x number of whatever fish make sure we all say congrats and no one says they did not!

Please, please do not hold onto your catch for the sake of a group photo.
Despite their rugged look (and feel!), Ray can be delicate enough. I've seen Ray take some time to recover, even after being returned to the water quickly and without rough handling.
You'll get a lot more respect from fellow anglers by returning the fish as soon as possible.
