Tide:high at 8.00
Weather:great
Bait:mackeral, squid, lug
Rigs:pulley
Results:1 Congor, 2 Thornback Ray, 1 Dogfish
Report:First went to a deep water rock mark, to other guys had been spinning for about an hour with no result but I had beach caster and bait

so I set up on a nice rock plat form about 8 feet above water level 15 min later a set of swells came out of nowhere and swamped me thankfully I caught rod , tackle box and coatso for enviromental reasons(preservation of life, namely my own

) I packed up as it was still 4 hours below high water

Then headed to the pier, waited for the daytripers to disappear and set up my rods , one boat rod straight of the back in the hope of a conger. This was the first rod to see any action as it was dark and shaded behind the pier. 102cm 8lb congor, wahee my first of the year

. then when the sun went down i landed two thornbacks on the trot
QUESTION the litlle congor I had was difficult enough

if i get a larger one some day any tricks to unhooking the critters if they are deep hooked
