[b]Report:out of boredom decided to break from the norm to do an hour of freelineing, talked two lads into joining me with the promise of wrasse and pollock knew they couldnt resist adding another few species to their list because their lists are smaller than mine

and it was killing them, so we loaded up with lightest rods and reels in the armoury and off we went to the rocks, first cast trying to cast as far as i could, plop! my bait landed about 8 foot in front of me

cause lads were looking i left it there pretended i meant to put it there

so there i was sitting on a rock rod in hand cursing my bad cast in my head not 2 mins later something grabbed my bait and was heading for freedom,, stripping line off my toy rod and reel took about 5 mins before i got it too the surface and another few fine runs before i had it on the rocks a bass weighing in at 6lbs, 70cm in length he was a bit cut up above the tail, think it might have been the fight he gave over very rough ground or else another huge fish tried to have it for dinner

either way i didnt think he was going to survive his ordeal so i kept it for my dinner

next cast into same place and bang another big fish on and this 1 was not going to be bullied by me and my toys twice, i had it within reach and it darted back into rocks, on my 3rd attempt to land it after scrapping for over 15 min it got free but it gave me the best fight ive ever had, stayed till the hour was up and no one else put up a fish so i made the short trip home feel very long for the two lads
