People:Me and Tommy
Duration:9.30am-12.30pm
Tide:rising
Weather:Cloudy, odd spit of rain
Bait:Ragworm
Rigs:Tried quite a few, sliding float, running ledger rig and spining.
Results:Me 1 Coalie (roughly a pound) and 1 Flounder (32cm) Tommy blanked.
Report:Heard quite a few reports of Wrasse being landed up and down the coast so we decided to give Painted rock a throw for them. I picked up a very hungover Tommy and off we went. The bay was flat calm when we arrived so we setup the sliding floats and threw the baits out. The fishing was very difficult, baits not even being touched. I tried spinning for a while but this also failed to produce a fish. Decided then to fish on the bottom and just when we were talking about packing up my rod started bouncing. After a nice wee scrap I landed a Coalie of around the pound mark. Following cast produced a 32cm Flounder. I could have stayed another couple of hours as I'm certain I would have added to my tally but I felt sorry for Tommy who'd been suffering all morning and hadn't caught anything. So I dropped him off and decided to hit Greys Point to use up the ragworm. I blanked there unless a starfish counts?

Glad I went to Greys Point as a couple of boys feathering caught 2 Mackerel, very early for down there. Hopefully its sign of good things to come.
