People:Me and second son
Duration:1.5 hours
Tide:Rising
Weather:Sunny and clear with southerly breeze
Bait:Old rag worm left over from wekend
Rigs: Floating
Results:Me 11 Wrasse, Ryan 6 Wrasse
Report:Went home after work and second son Ryan suggested going to Donaghadee for an hour after his success the night before. So we gathered up the remainder of the rag left from the weekend and headed down. When we arrived there where four people already fishing between the piers which is where we wanted to go, so we climbed up onto the wall behind the lighthouse and fished the seaward side. We set the floats to just drift over the top of the kelp and baited up. We did not have to wait long for action as it was nearly a fish a cast. In the end I had 11 wrasse, 1 at 0.5 lbs, 8 between 1 and 2 lbs, and 2 well over 2 lbs. Ryan had 6 in total, 1 slightly less than 1lb, 4 betwen 1lb and 2lb and one well over 2 lbs.
At one stage we both had fish on each of approx 2lbs, my fish diving for the weed beneath it and Ryans trying to get into the weed close to the pier.
Some nights do not go to plan, but come up trumps.
