Rigs: everything but the kitchen sink and cheap hooks

Results: doggie eel trout one broke rod





Report: got to the spot at 11 lovely night for it. there no wind no waves and no one else there so perfect conditions in my boook.had to wait for about hour for the bedlem to stop and it was mental 2 rods out far and one in near started to rattle at once didn't know which rod to grab first after knocking over the rod rest i grabbed the one that was in near and lost a doggie on the waters edge then landed a doggie of over 60cm on one of the rods out far had to measure it quickly with a 20cm ruler broke the hook trying to get it out then got the last line in and lost something decent the hook gave way god damn cheap ebay rigs baited up and put all mack and herring on one hook had a small trout on the heering after 10 minutes in near trout was returned safely about 27cm had more doggies rods kept rattling all night and then had a whopper of a eel at about 4 ish broke rod trying to get it out of water then it lodge down and couldn't budge it and line gave way . had a good few doggies one double and treble lost a few on way in due to cheap rigs and hooks giving way :evil: :x :x when i was bringing last cast had a nice fat eel the size of my leg landed which was a fecker to unhook tried my best to remove hook but couldn't had to put him with a hook in him . my best night out yet even herself couldn't give out to me for bringing phone. i didn't want to leave the spot but i had to get the car back to herself for work all fish were returned safley ish .

sounds like you had a good session except for the broken rod,will you be going back to try for the eel again?

Well done, sounds like a very busy session. You don't have to remind me about cheap hooks :twisted: :twisted: :twisted: After a lesson learnt the hard way I now know that it is better to pay a bit extra to get good quality hooks.

i think i will just keep making my own at least then i know the hooks and line ae good

it works in the evening when its nice but i don't think i would get away with it in the morning when its cold and she would have 8 eight hours thinking of how to makle me suffer somethings just ain't worth the risk
