Report:As the wind was not strong enough or in the right direction to give the planned bass fishing a go I decided to do some general fishing at the Bantry International Airport. On arrival noticed that there was some dredging activity to the seaward end of the runway. Hoped that this might stir up the bottom and provide some food for marauding fish. Fished down tide of the dredger. First chucked out the distance rod and before I had time to set the other rod up the first one was banging away with the ever present doggie. This was the story for the whole session, as fast as i could rebait the distance rod another doggie took, didn't matter which bait or state of the tide. Finally had a good knock on the closer in rod, struck and landed yup, you guessed it, another doggie. At this point the urge to adjourn to the pub was too strong. However I have plenty of bait left for tomorrow, but where to go to catch something different? I will leave the Scooby Snacks at home, please no more dogs!!
