Report: Myself and Darren had Planned a good Friday overnight session but due to technical difficulties we put it off until Sat night . The only bait we had was some razor , we had planned to dig some lug at low water at around 2am
We got to the beach around 11pm set up and cast into the darkness . Darren was unsure where to cast because of the lack of surf on the beach so I advised him not to cast too far .
I turned around to check my rod and it was gently nodding in the tripod so I picked it up and felt that I had a slack line reeling in the slack as fast as I could to catch up with the fish and well I did , Next thing THUMP THUMP I knew i was into a decent fish . After 5 mins r so the fish was landed . A bass of 9/10 lb it put some bend in the rod and set my heart racing , I did not expect that fish in those conditions on my first cast .
After that I had a cuppa tea and a smoke to calm my nerves . Then we headed to dig some lug and my sprong that I had stashed weeks previous was missing , we spent an hour searching for it and came to the conclusion that someone (BORROWED ) it and we had to call a halt to the session due to lack of bait !
So if you borrowed my sprong please return it to where you found it . Much obliged Craig .
The pics I have were taken on mobile Phones so It may take me a while to load .
