People: Me and fellow “Marino Tight Line” Hank (AKA Karwan)
Duration: 6pm until 1am
Tide: High Tide about 10 (Maybe 11 stupid hour changing

)
Weather: Rain and cold. Then warm and nice. Then more rain!
Bait: I only use Boycie Bait
Rigs: Two hook Pater’s and Lidl rigs
Results: 8 Schoolie Bass, 5 Flounder and a few Whiting.
Report: I had to drop a buggy to my sister in Wexford so decided to hit a spot on the way home. Seeing as I was down there like! I was hoping to pick up a few flats and after a good talking to from Boycie about hook sizes all the flats were unhooked very easily. I got a small flounder and popped him in a bucket of water I had for a minute after taking the hook out. It was deadly to see him bury himself in the bit of sand at the bottom.
Then after the tide dropped off the schoolies started to hit. Funny I had brought the Grey’s BZE rod with me to try out. I had got it for the summer when I’ll be in Wexford a good bit. I’m not saying it was the rod but all bass were picked up on it. I was delighted to finally catch a bass. The biggest just over a foot. Still counts though!

I had the other rod out as far as I could hoping for a dog or even a stray codling but with no joy.
Poor Hank wasn’t having much luck with his Lidl gear. So I tied on the size 4 hooks I was using and he managed his first Whiting of the year! I was so happy the lad who is 13 got a fish in cause I have not brought him out much this year.
After what seemed like to be a disaster from the start turned out to be a great session for us both. My brother (who was to drive

) could not make it at the last minute. I forgot my milk and goodies and hank forgot his tea bags. We both finished up drinking black coffee in the rain with big smiles on our mushes.
