People:myself
Duration:8pm-10.30pm
Tide:lw around 8pm
Weather:dry but needed to wrap well
Bait:rag, mack and razor
Rigs:mix
Results:2 flounders, 1 dab, 1 whiting and 3 doggies
Report: decided to head out at long last. i checked the steps and rock
area at greystones but resisted cos my lamps may not have lasted the duration
and figured the beach was safer a bet.
i had my main rod at distance and my light spinning rod in close and not a tap til 9pm
which resulted in a flounder at distance on razor.
not long after this i got a double of a dab and whiting in close on rag and mack.
another flounder on the big rod soon after.
i got a massive bang on the light rod and lost it to a snag!
rigged up again but with just one hook with a chunk of mackeral and lobbed it out
20 yards or so. within minutes of pouring a coffee the rod was dancing to the tune
of a dog, so long since i've seen a doggie bite, first this year! struck and gently reeled
him in as i was using 4lb line, great craic.
by 10.15 i was reeling in a second dog and about to go but as my baits were fairly intact
i gave one last cast to finish my flask of coffee!
this resulted with my third dog on mackeral.
really enjoyed the few hours and typical that i forgot my camera!
can't believe how much bait i have left! might head out later again and bring my
camera this time. there were a couple of guys fishing by the stream with glowing orange tips
on their rods but i couldn't see if they were catching.
