People: Myself & my Dad (John)

Duration: 11.00 am 5.00pm

Tide: Full at 7pm ish

Weather: like a summers day

Bait: squid, mackeral, mussel, rag, lug, & Razor

Rigs: two hook long distance X1, two hook flappers one up one down X2

Results: 5 flounder and one rockling

Report: Headed out to a new mark that i wanted to fish since just before the new year. got first cast into the water at 11.00am. i fished two rods and John fished one rod. at about 11.30 i got a 27cm flounder good and fat. was looking forward to a nice days fishing. I cant remember the last time i wore sunglasses fishing but had them on most of the day. A pair of tracksuit bottoms and t-shirt for me 8) 8) after the first fish bits dryed up baits came back untouched. Had our food lovely ham, tomateo, salad cream, scallions, egg rolls and pot noddles and tea. By 3.00pm i got fed up and said if i don't catch a fish by 4.15 i'm heading home. so at 4.05pm i got out of my chair to reel in and bait up the last time. Reeled in to find a nice 21cm flounder on the hook. so baited up but it now wasnt going to be the last cast we decided to but it back till 5pm. By 5pm came around we had 3 more flounder all in the 21cm 27cm range and plumb. On the final retives we got 2 flounder and the 3 bearded rockling. i caught 4 flounder and John got 1 flounder and 1 rockling. So we were happy with the days fishing and the outing. on the way out of were we parked i found a nice bit of mud. stuck in it for 20mins trying to get some wood under it until a local past us who gave us a hand to push and away we went. John was also caugh short there so he is now less one hanky. Back in the car he only relised that there was a roll of kitchen roll in the boot  We will be hading back here again on better tides for us , more hanky's and maybe a 4x4.

Nice session.....

Last summer I fished twice in Kilmicheal point and I didn't caught a fish, I only tried spinning from the rocks.
Did you just park near the old coastguard station and walked to the left?

Diego,
sorry it it a place call Clones didn't know the name of it until i had a look at the map. Hope to get back out again soon to that mark. seems to be fished a good bit by the number of empty packs of traces. Well someone left two behind one with a nice grip weight also. Neither of us got snagged, so it was a nice mark, plenty of places to set up we had the tripods out and the chairs nice and relaxed all day.

Nice flounder ,,sounds like a perfect day, at least till the second last sentence. Next time, you might want to bring these, in case you get caught short again.I find them very useful on those extra long sessions , and the beauty of them is that you dont have to wait till theres no one about to use them.

nice session man :D i always keep a packet of wet wipes in the box in case of such emergencies      but fair play for sticking it out, other anglers would have packed up and went in search of a toilet

wet wipes are the way forward. i dont leave home without them anymore. the missus uses them for removing makeup and i took a half empty box from her a while back after getting caught myself   . best thing is the pack is waterproof so their handier than loo roll in the box, plus their nice and soft.............

did he use a pooper scooper afterwards.
as you know human excrement is a lot more dangerous to us than dogs .
all sorts of diseases carried in it .
if he didn't scoop it can you at least give us some GPS cords to avoid the area for 6 months or so

as a lad said on another report there is often enough crap left lyin about after some fisherman
at 1 mark in kilmichael last year we collected a big bagful of old bait boxes etc before we set up
