Weather: Gale force winds.

Results:

Report:

Decided to try something different this weekend as the saltwater FF wasn't producing. Bought some lug in Dublin and upon my arrival in Donegal I placed a few mack outside to defrost them.

Was greeted first thing in the morning by a load of very happy stray cats. finishing off the last of the Mackeral.

I still had the lug and took a steak of salmon from the fridge.

Never fished Rossbeg before so I was looking for 'tra Mor' as I heard reports that it was good. Couldn't find an easy access point to fish, i'm sure I was looking in the wrong place. So, I just headed for the pier in the village.

Conditions weren't great, there was no possible way of telling if I had a bite. The problem was further compounded by the fact that I didn't really know what I was doing.

Anyway about 3 hours into the fishing a local man came down to me to tell me that I was wasting my time. He told me he used to fish from the pier when he was younger, but all the fish in the area had disappeared

unlucky anthony, its the time of the year, fishing during the daylight hours doesn't produce many fish. You weren't too far away from dawros head or take a walk out to the left of the pier and fishing from the rocks produces some nice pollack, wrasse and conger in the summer months. I have never had the opportunity to fish there this time of year. Tramor beach further round the coast on the same road about 5mins drive. its on the same road as the caravan park.

Saw a number of rock marks that looked like they could be the muts nuts. But with the gale force winds and surf that was coming in, I didn't venture out there.

Thinks it's a bad time of year for the location anyway.
