Report:First time fishing wicklow north beach and i wasnt disappointed. Fishface was there when i arrived and John Bunn arrived soon after. I had arrived in the dark and was not familiar with the beach, so fully laden and all wrapped up in my Imax floatation suit i stepped down onto the shingle and headed for the lights, trudging about a couple of hundred yds up the beach. By the time i reached Fishface there was steam coming out of my suit and i was knackered

,, and Fishface said,"why didnt you walk up the path instead of up the beach?". I'll know the next time

The lads were off the mark quickly and I was last to catch a fish but after i caught the first one they came in droves. Early on i had a double of a whiting and a doggie, then doubles and trebles all night of whiting, mostly small. The other two lads all caught plenty of whiting also with John Bunn getting a 5 bearded rockling. The doggie was caught on a chunk of mack, oozing blood and guts , and we thought there would be some more out there but alas he was the only one of the night. I didnt mind, cos after all I caught him

. He was the first one i caught since last October and it was great to feel a bit of weight pulling on the rod, and they go back so easily also. Hopefully they will come back in numbers soon. Fishface has a new rod, a ZZIPPLEX Primo Match, really light but really strong with great bite detection. We packed up around 9-30pm as we had enough of the whiting. An easy stroll back to the cars, this time on the path

and we were off.
