Weather: Fine day, dry with sunny spells

Rigs: 2 & 3 hook flappers, pennels
Results: Whiting, lots of Whiting oh and one Pollock
Report: We decided to wet the lines and headed down to a mark on the pier we hadn't fished before as we normally fish the South Beach.
On arriving at the Pier we met another angler who had just packed up, he was complaining that in over 2hrs he hadn't even had a bite.... the signs weren't looking good!
We thought were here now so what the heck! We set up at the top of the 'T' shaped pier fishing straight out towards the horizon, within 20 mins we had both landed a few whiting, nothing big, but a start, caught a small Pollock from fishing right down by the pillars, all fish falling for the lug.... the fishing continued to produce until about high water and then nothing. We waited patiently hoping things would change, we tried different baits and combinations but nothing happening, we sat idle for about 90 mins.
We then changed position on the pier to the left hand side of the 'T', fishing towards the South Beach where there was a comp on, straight away the rods start hopping

, Whiting flying in again, some half decent sizes up to about 20cm. The bait only needed to be in the water for about 5 seconds and boom, another bite.... We really enjoyed the days fishing and our backsides didn't warm the seats for about the last 2.5-3hrs which is always a good sign!
We both had a big bait out each on pennel setups but not much action on these rods, although each of us had a greedy little sod of a whiting on them, how they hooked themselves on a 4/0 is beyond me!
Will definitely be fishing this mark again.
Please note - No fish were harmed in the making of this report but many lug selflessly martyred themselves for the cause.
