People:Myself and John

Duration:8-11pm

Tide: high around 10pm

Weather: cool and now wind

Bait: mackeral

Rigs: two hook fladders

Results: shore rockling, dabs and whitting

Report:
Went out Friday night for a few hours to teach John how to fish. Well i showed him how to set up cut mackeral and the basics. best of all he could cast himself so all i had to do was bait it up for him and he did the rest. so at least i could enjoy the fishing also. On his first cast he reeled in a small whiting result John caught his first ever fished. he went on to catch three whiting in total and a very small dab. My brother was also there with us but doesn't like fishing to much but he took John's rod for a two casts and managed to catch a whiting and a shore rockling. While i caught one Dab and i'm the one who goes out all the time they showed me. But i was very happy to get out now i hope John catches the fishing bug. John also got the largest fish a 27cm whiting he was wondering if he could bring it home and cook it? He was disappointed when i said 30cm but he is determined to catch a fish and bring it home and cook it. All fish were returned alive for the next day. Hope i can get out again when i get back from Germany next weekend. Sorry for the late post was in Mayo from yesterday and only returned home. i will start posting pictures in the near future.

good fishyfishy report

i would of had no problem with the lad taking a 27cm whiting to taste as it was his first fish.
it might even have made him more interested it going again.

you know the hunter gatherer instinct
