Report: i've been watching the weather and swell forecasts for the last few weeks, waiting for favourable conditions to fish ramore head, and today was the day :P :P so the alarm was set for 4.30am so i could get up to portrush and be fishing for first light. when i arrived at the mark it was still dark and to my horror the rocks were all coated in a layer of ice   (not frost). so i sat on the path and had a coffee until some light started to break and i could see what i was at :x :x i could'nt fish my intended spot as the rocks slope off towards the sea and you would have slipped straight off the edge and i did'nt bring my bathing cozzie     so another spot was found with a nice flat surface, so if i did slip i would only fall on my bum and not into the sea. what ensued was the session from hell. i had 3 rods out trying all tactics and did'nt get even one bite other than from the cold    i must have lost 7 traces and multiple leads on the rough ground. and by 3pm i admited defeat and packed up as the light began to fade. the ice on the rocks never melted, so to fish here in the darkness on my own would have been suicide. it seems that no where seems to be fishing during daylight hours at the moment     . which is a pity as i feel that this mark would have fished it's socks off during the night. but like i say you would need to be mental to try it. i like to catch the fishes, i don't want to swim with em but.

Unlucky with the blank al ,better luck next time ,It can be a hard ol spot to fish this time of year ,though it's normally the swell that puts you of the mark rather than ice

Fair play. I can't believe you lasted so long in that cold. I'd certainly have packed it in a lot sooner than you did.
