Greystones Cod

Not my fish im afraid.
One of the lads I work with was out over Christmas for a few hours. In his own words he fishes a handful of times a year.
The fish was caught in the afternoon with a mackerel fillet as bait.
Was approx 5 and a half pound in weight. Looks bigger to me but was not weighed, it was his own estimate.

One hell of a scrap apparently.

Great to see Cod starting to get back to where they used to be.

Heard that alright mate, from the shore or boat..?

Dont want exact marks or anything like that. Just hoping you say shore.
Pic would be great too.

Might tempt me from my cosy couch during the Bass off season.
Speaking of which nobody told the Bass they are supposed to be absent. Still throwing up the odd good fish which is great to see.
Well fat ones too. I wonder if the small whiting are taking a pounding...!
Between Fat Bass and Cod, who would be a whiting...!

Loosely termed shore mate, a fairly high rock mark so long strong leaders required!!!
