People: me

Duration: 20.30 to 23.30

Tide: High Tide @ 22.15

Weather: Windy and very clod

Bait: Lug, squid and sand-eel

Rigs: 3 hooks rig

Results: 10 whiting

Report:

I just went fishing as I had some leftover lug from Friday.
I knew that the whiting would save a blank, it was not an exciting session. :(

Glad to see they're still there!

I found casting out 120 metres plus avoids them - generally - but it avoids everything else too!

I kept some of the whiting and last night I prepared some fillets.
I tossed them in some flour and pan fried them, they are nice!
I'm thinking to go fishing again just to get some more whiting ;-)

get some breadcrumbs, egg, flour and some seasoning. mix the seasoning in with the breadcrumbs. dip the whiting fillets into the flour, then the egg and then the breadcrumbs. fry for a few minutes and if you want finish off in the oven. serve with a few wedges and a bit of mixed leaf salad. delicious.

as AL said the hardest part is finding decent sized whiting amongst the small ones. i got 5 good ones a few weeks ago and since then all ive had is tiny ones that wouldnt fill a cat.
