People: myself shamoo

Duration: ~7.15 till 11

Tide: filling and HT

Weather: surprisingly dry, little wind - cold

Bait: mack for me, mark mack, lug, squid, crab?

Rigs: 1 hook pat, 3 hook flapper

Results: 1 whiting bout 25cm

Report: it was one of those sessions where i look back and go thank feck it wasnt raining!!!
the writing was on the wall when i was setting up i got a massive wind knot - think marked cracked off on the first cast - then he had to pull for a break

i got one ball of line sorted and went to cast - and managed to start another one

id say the 2 of us were there for an hour before we got a cast out!!!

changed reels at this point and finally started getting a few casts out - crabs were devils lifting the rigs and bringing them into the rocks as the ground was quite clear

had them snip off 2 leads on me

on the new rod i got off lumpy i had a whiting come in at about 60 yards - if he hadnt shown id say we could have left earlier

kept at it for another hour - had to pull for a break on the flapper and i put that one away

mark had another birdie and it was easy to decide to go home

murphys law was the call of the day

nice night to be out though in the shelter of the wind - pity about the fishing :|

Hard luck lads at least your testing the water (pardon the pun) on new marks :)

Conor, like Brian said, only positive was the fact the rain stayed away

I lost a rig on each rod on my first casts to snags...., then lost another one mid session, then had a crack off on my last cast.......the joys of fishing

Regarding the new venue, we were advised by a local expert (you know who you are  ) that this place fishes really well.......................

............earlier in the year

ah here now i am no expert on the place!!! the fishing is usually slow to non existent but the fish can be decent in size when you get one! evening, 2 hours into rise and light breeze seem best... you want to get closer to the sea near the tower at this time of year...
