Report: i had some rag left over from sundays boat trip and it had to be used today before it died. and thats all the excuse i needed to justify a trip up the antrim coast i found a nice fishy looking beach in waterfoot with handy parking and was soon set up. i decided to fish a spot with loads of lug casts at the low water mark meaning as the tide pushed me up the beach i'd be fishing on top of them. this area had lots of natural bait present and i reckoned the fish would be switched onto this. problem was, it was blowing a bloody gale the tripod was blown over 3 times and my tackle bag shot 20ft up the beach behind me. there must have been 3lb of weights in it . bite indication was impossible so i'm sure i missed loads of bites. but 1 definite bite did come around 1pm and i landed my biggest ever flounder 1lb 6oz . a new personal best . i was chuffed to bits. just before this i was seriously thinking about raping it up as i kept getting sand blasted from my left then nothing until 3.30pm when i landed another smaller flounder at 9oz. i stuck it out another hour then headed for the welcome heat of the car.

seen you fishing in your florescent gear! we fished rom the harbour which was rubbish, maybe about 3 small coalies, every bait we used was stolen by crabs!

lol!! yes mrjed, i was the lone nutter being sand blasted on the beach i saw a car and van parked at the end of the pier. you all seemed to be tucked tight into the wall. i was almost tempted to pack up and head over to get some shelter, but i knew that if i got into the car i would'nt have got out again . it was just a pity i left the sea measure in the car as i feel the photo of my big flounder did'nt really do it justice. but i would'nt have chanced keeping him out of the water too long for the sake of a photo.
