People:Me and mate Pete

Duration:8-12pm

Tide:High and dropping

Weather:Strong offshore wind

Bait:Lug, Mackeral and Squid

Rigs:1 & 2 Flapper Size 1

Results:Rockling :D ,Codling :D , Whiting, Pollock, Poor Cod, Pouting and Coalie

Report: Headed down to the dee hoping for a few fish. Fished here last Saturday during the day and was a bit dissapointed at the number of fish caught.

Straight off Pete was into fish with a number of Whiting and poor cod and Coalies fishing in the mouth of the harbour.

I setup fishing a bigger Mackeral squid bait outside the harbour hoping for a codling or Dogfish. I setup another rod to fish for Rockling down the wall. Since I was behind I changed the rod at distance to fish inside the harbour and got both rods in the water at the same time.

Straight away I was into my first Rockling of the year !! :) . Thanks to Al and Drew for the tips. A quick photo and it was returned. Soon after there was a steady stream of fish on my other rod. A couple of good Coalies one of about 1.5lb two small codling which was another first of the year :) and Pouting. Things quitened down abit in the mouth of the harbour so the rod went down the side again to try for another Rockling. I wasnt dissapointed with the second and larger of the night.

All in all a good nights fishing.

Cheers Don, I think the one in your pic is a 3 bearded rockling. The one I got is a shore rockling.

Cheers guys. Its always nice to add species that you have not caught this year or never before :D Nearly all this has been possible because of this forum.

Eyes I would highly recommend the sundridge en-tec suit really nice for the colder nights.

I still have the long johns from my biking days ( long gone now but at least i survived them  ). They make a huge difference on an icy night.

I used long johns last winter and i think that this year will be alot more comfortable with the floatie suit.

Well done on a great session - nice to get a good variety of species - not to mention a couple of new ones.
