Rigs: 2 rods: a)small flowing trace b)2-hook flapper
Results: 1 flounder; 2 bass 6lb(56cm) + 4 1/2lb(52)
Report: Needed to use up my worms before they died in the fridge, luckily it coincided with a rising tide.
Set up a light carp rod with a flowing trace with a plain lead and a 1/0 hook for flounder. Baited with lug and rag and flicked out no more than 25yrds.
Used a 3/0 2-hook rig baited with lug and squid on my beach caster and fished at medium range.
Around 8.30 the light rod produced a flounder of a few ounces. Released the fish and quickly cast back into the surf while I re-baited the other rod.
I was reeling in the 2-hook rod when the carp rod jumped out of the tripod and took on down the beach. Took 10 mins to land a bass of 6lb on 8lb line even though it was only 20 yrds from the waters edge.
At the turn of the tide I got a bite on the rod at range which resulted in a bass of 4lb to a lug and squid cocktail.
Please excuse the poor quality pictures but my camera is a heap of balls and I'd managed to break my head torch getting it out of the car.
