People:me

Duration:1830-2210

Tide:hw @ 2127

Weather:calm, misty

Bait:fresh lug, black wraps, squid and mack

Rigs:2 and 3 hook flappers

Results:2 bass (48cm, 46cm) 3 flounder 28-33cm, 3 whiting

Report:spur of tha moment session as i saw there was a nice surf running on the way home from digging bait. first cast i had 2 pin whiting and a 48cm bass, not a bad start i thought.went quite for an hour and then had a flounder on one rod and another bass on the other rod. finally on the last cast had a 33cm flounder and a small pin whiting. not too bad for a spur of the moment session

ya the first one was very deep set. obviously feeding well at the moment. theres loads of pin whiting around so this may be the reason.

There musnt be a morsel of food left for anything else with the amount of whitting around!!! I think im going to get a few and keep them alive and see how they are as live bait for bass. There is a lovely drop off that i know, im going to float a few of them over it and see if they get nailed. If so it should be deadly craic!!!

cheers lads. its nice when these spur of the moment trips work out well. was basically the same week last year i started getting some good conditioned fish. hopefully it will continue into the new year. worryingly though i still have yet to catch a coalie. had loads of them by this time last year..
