Report: i had the day off and weather looked good so decided to hit greystones and wet a line. when i got there the sea was fairly rough and no what i expected but i decided to persevere. had a few cast but sea was too rough for bite detection and the weight was getting dragged around. i decided to fish close in to avoid the big bow in the line and maybe pick up some fish. got rattles straight away but got snagged twice with a fish on

and lost everything. decided to hit the beach and cleaner ground. guess what got snagged there too it was gonna be one of these frustrating sessions

. reeled in my other rod and i had a plump flounder on

happy days blank saved. then something weird happened.... flounder was deep hooked and i tried everything to remove hook but it wasnt happening so i had another look at him and he was definately plump enough for the table so i decided to dispatch him and cut the hook out and have him for supper, but then i noticed he was looking at me

and his eyes were following me it was as if he knew,i tried to focus on the job but there was his puppy eyes gazing into my soul , then i felt guilty and decided to try and get the hook out once more and if it came out id release him, the hook just popped straight out

and the flounder posed for a photo and then released him into the suds and away he went. i had a few more casts and nothing else came so i decided to save my bait for tomorrow or wed with better conditions , maybe.
driving home i had a very content feeling even though it was a bad session.... it was all very surreal.
