People: me
Duration: 16:00 - 20.00
Tide: HW about 20:30
Weather: misty and cold
Bait: mackerel, sandeel, crab, lug
Rigs: pulley's, one up, one down
Results: 1 flounder, 1 whiting and I lost count of the coalies after 20
Report: Great few hours fishing. No fish for the first few casts but as soon as it started getting dark it was a least a fish a cast, most times it was double shots of coalies. All the fish came to mack or eel, the crab and lug came back untouched Had one cracker of a bite that nearly pulled the rod in but nothing there when I struck into it, only a small coalies looking fairly unhealthy and half eaten. That got me thinking has anyone had any luck live baiting with a coalie and what could you expect to catch with one?

Lads cheers for the replies.
Mermaids cove is the oppsite end of the beach to Mullaghmore village and harbour. Yo can get to it one of 2 ways you can walk the full lenght of the beach till you cross the small river and reach the rocks (it's a long hike through soft sand) or you can drive out of the village, past the turn back for Sligo and then take the next left going along past the lake on your right. Drive along here until you reach a small caravan park on your left and then turn left straight away. You can fish anywhere along the rocks/ beach (depending on the tide) but I have found heading bak across the rocks towards Mullaghmore best. Thinkig about tope there has got me excited think I'll give it another bash over the weekend.
Cheers
Shane
