People: myself and FMD

Duration: 3hours beach 3hours pier

Tide:filling for 4 hours then ebb

Weather: windy overcast ocassionaly deluge

Bait: manky, mackeral, sandeel, squid, mussel

Rigs: 3 hook flappers, pulley

Results: shed loads of pollack and a blenny

Report: was onto pete about finding a sheltered enough beach so mullaghmore it was set up very close to the car park as that side of the beach was sheltered from the prevailing wind

there was any amount of weed near the roadside and sure enough as it filled it made fishing impossible

thought this looked like a good mark so surprised i didnt catch something before the weed got going

contingency plan came into effect then - headed down to the harbour and through out some small hooks aswell as dumping the bait that should have been long gotten rid of!!!

had a few nibbles straight off - the ground bait had them on the feed

but funnily no hook up - had another 3 hooks out in the centre of the harbour and thats where i got the first one on a 3/0 hook!

after that the ones in close were suicidal - at that point it was easy to convice FMD to get out of the car and into the action in the rain

brought out another 30 at least plus a blenny - showed more how starved we were of action that this was good crack but couldnt complain as there was a bit of shelter from the wind

nice little spot there would love to fish both the pier and beach again

Pity we didn't get to meet up, work put paid to my weekend. Sure if your up again give us a ring. Mind you the weather was a bit cuckoo for the period you were up. Judging from the reports it didn't stop you getting out...all i can say is herself must be a very paitent lady
