Rigs:flappers, mini rig, 1 hook clipped down

Results:3 codling,5 pollock, 2 wrasse, 6 whiting

Report:ARRIVED IN WICKLOW HARBOUR TO FIND THAT SHAMOO WAS ALSO THERE PASSING ON HIS FISHING KNOWLEDGE TO HIS NEPHEWS  . THEY WERE ALL BUSY CATCHING, WRASSE, POLLOCK, FLATS AND WHITING SO I SET UP AND SOON HAD A TINY CODLING ON THE SPINNING ROD CLOSE IN ON LUG AND MACK. THIS WAS FOLLOWED BY A COUPLE OF CORKWING WRASSE AND SOME POLLOCK. I HAD A GOOD TAKE FROM MAYBE A CONGER OR A LARGER WRASSE WHO WENT INTO HIS HIDEY HOLE BUT ANYWAYS I COULDNT GET IT OUT, WHATEVER IT WAS , AND HAD TO PULL FOR A BREAK. I TRIED OUT MY MUSSEL, WHICH I HAD PUT ON A BAIT NEEDLE WITH WHIPPING ELASTIC AND FROZEN AND IT WORKED FOR ME.I HADNT MUCH BUT IT PRODUCED EACH TIME I USED IT, CATCHING POLLOCK ,WHITING AND SCORPION FISH. 1 CAUGHT 3 CODLING, ALL ON LUG MACK COMBOS. ALL FISH WERE LIP HOOKED EXCEPT FOR THE CODLING FOR WHICH I WAS GLAD THAT I HAD BOUGHT A LONG NOSED PLIERS.ALL WERE RELEASED,,, I'M GLAD TO REPORT THAT THEY ALL WENT BACK OK EVEN THE WHITING. IT WAS A DECENT SESSION BUT DUE TO THE FACT THAT THERE WERE QUITE A FEW GROUPS COMING AND GOING WITH TINNIES WHEN DARKNESS FELL I DONT THINK I WOULD STAY INTO DARKNESS ON MY OWN AGAIN. GOT A BIT OF MESSING FROM SOME TEENAGERS WHO WERE OK IN THE END, AND EVEN OFFERED ME SOME BEER  , BUT WHO WANTS THAT MESSING . HEADED OFF AT 9-30PM TO GO HOME AND HAVE A FEW TINNIES MYSELF

Nice fishing Dave.

It was pretty hectic for a while there wasnt it

They were actually my housemates nephews, not my, thank god

However, it was mission accomplished, they all caught a few fish, and thoroughly enjoyed it.......begging me to take them out tomorrow

The oldest, Michael is actually a very accomplished course & fly fisherman back in Galway and only a few points away from making the irish Juniors team, but hasnt done any (shore) sea fishing, needless to say...he's hooked (pardon the pun!!!)

I dont think I have enough leads/hooks etc left to take them out again though and dont know why I bothered taking my own rod :!:

Great to meet fishface (Neil)

Loverly stuff, I really got to get out fishing soon. Leinster Rugby roller coaster (and ratoath U16s )again keeping my tackle stowed away. Time to just buy bait so I have to get out. By my reconing you can add a coalfish to the species for the day.
