People:me and big mick

Duration:6pm-10pm

Tide:high 6-45pm

Weather:dd dry,mild

Bait:mack fillets,squid
dd
Rigs:2 hook flappers,mini rigs

Results:me, 2 doggies, 1 pollock,1 blenny,2 scorpion fish, 4 whiting,,,,,big mick, 1 pollock,5 whiting

Report:Headed to greystones after work, traffic not too bad, got there at 6pm and set up. We had arrived at the right time and while big mick was still setting up i had a blenny on the first lob into the water, followed soon after by a couple of scorpion fish. I used tiny strips of mackeral for these on a size 4 hook with 1 ounce lead. We just had mack from dunnes tipped with squid .Any bites we got were soon after the bait hit the water. Big Mick broke his duck with a whiting and we were expecting to be hit by hordes of them but then i got a stronger take on the beachcaster out about 60-80 yds which turned out to be a double of a whiting and a very lively doggie. I switched to the mini rig and the spinning rod again and got a nice fight from a decent pollock, about 30cms. Things went quiet for a while and we were about to pack up when i got another doggie at about the same distance ,80 yds, on a pulley rig. Mick got a small pollock and some more whiting. I had a crack off and while tying on some new leader line the spool rolled down the rocks into the water  , i had a hold of the end and reeled it in, ,,,,50 metres,,,,which i'll have to put onto another spool. Then I lost two small rigs trying for small fish in close but what the hell  . We were kept busy enough all night and looking at the weather today and for the weekend i'm glad we went out last night

Well done Dave, you got a good variety there.

But how are you going to measure the next 60 cm+ bass :?: :?: :?:

I should have gone out last night myself - today the weather has been dire - maybe I will get out tomorrow evening.
