Ah, love these fish, that's the fish I was looking for in the south of France,(where I come from), along with gilthead bream.... I was using american worms a lot (a very good bait for all the sea bream family and bass)...Don't know if they come from the states... But as we have no tide we have to buy all the baits (american worms, corean worms, and netherlands rags...)....

Interesting. Stayed in Fuengirola for the summer hols in August. Nice spot. Lots of angling going on in the evening but didn't see a whole lot being caught. Maybe late season is better?
We're going again in 2009 and I might just pack a travel rod next time. That said, I didn't need to go to Spain to catch a Gilthead this year.

What species was the other fish in the picture? Haven't seen those turn up in Cork (yet)....

juan we also get the weaver fish in Ireland these are quit nasty fish .

on the bottom rig image why is there a snood attachment on the bar of the lead and then one above that again between the links?

Yes its true, i forget to take out the one in the boton the one in the sinker bar. You can see here more pictures:
