Report:
This was our second leg of the lms,, after a very lucky win from me in ballybranigan last weekend,,

met up with lee,, at jack whites pub ,,although i think he was more interested in going for a drink,,, he got there a wee bit late so we had to head straight to the beach,,,

parked the cars and started a grueling walk to the mark,,,electric fences every where,,,finally got to the beach at 16,35,,,,,unpacked the gear to get ready , when lee discovers he forgot his head lamp,,, and clipped rigs ,,in the car,,,

so off he goes on his maratho run back to the car,,fair play to the man he got back at 5 on the dot,,,,

so first cast out and we both take in an undersized whiting,,,

next couple of cast see some more undersize fish,,then lee takes of with a whiting at 25cm,,
im still getting undersized,,, lee takes another whiting at25 again
then i manage a dab at distance 26cm,,,
then lee gets another whiting 23cm,,

then i hit a double whiting 22, 26cm

lee then hits a wall and is fish less for about an hour and a half,,

while i get another double,, flounder 21 whiting 26,,
then another whiting 26
then lee gets a dog so he gets back running,,,

then i get a dog and a whiting,, lee decided to call it a night at 9pm,,, he has to drive back to cork, and the weather was getting bad,,

over all results for this leg

Congrats to Dennis, and thanks for the commiserations lads. About 3 hours home from there,(was longer on the way up thanks to the Deise capital being rammed to the gills). Rain was pretty bad all the way down.
Anyway, distance wasn't really an issue, and I'll hopefully be heading back up to visit for another session in the next few weeks with himself.

Interesting comp, I had a good start (after I'd got over being late, running all over sand dunes, birdieing my first cast etc etc), but Dennis' dab and the flounder destroyed me and I reckoned I wasn't going to get the fish to catch up with Dennis at that point when he got his dogfish (think I would have needed about 3 or 4 different species at that point or an absolute bucket load of fish?), so I would only be wasting my time and his in the wind and the rain. Good fun all the same. Favourite moment was a whiting Dennis landed which had most of it's tail missing, but just enough of one point left to touch the 26cm mark  - he was delighted with that as well.

Very hard to actually to target and land fish thanks to the big surf crashing down. Both myself and Dennis lost a few fish on the retrieve, Dennis teasing me for about 45 minutes by losing a couple doggies right at the shore, when I still had a bit of a chance .

Good competition, one against one like that can go either way, and I'd recommend some of the others lads give it a shot, although very glad I didn't get a draw against anyone from Donegal, wouldn't have fancied that drive to get beaten....

Anyway, nice one Dennis. You'd better get on and win the final now!
