Report:
a funny kind of day, went to check my crab traps and decided to spin for a few fresh macks at a mark nearby. got a few macks pretty quickly ( they were bursting everywhere). after a while i noticed a few better fish moving so tried fishing a small bit deeper and was rewarded with a solid take and a bass of 2 lbs, this was soon followed by a slightly better fish which gave a great fight. a very heavy shower and an increase in the wind blew me off this mark.

next stop was a small beach near home in the hope of a few flats and maby a stray bass, especially with a nice surrf running. this was surprisingly quiet with little activity until i returned from the car to find a slack liner on my scratching rod, suspecting a bass i wound down and felt a satisfying resistance. once in the shallows it went balistic, taking 4 attempts to beach whereby i found out it was a nice mullet of 3.4lbs with a palm sized turbot in tow. not the bass but pleasing all the same. strange to get one on a 20lb flouro hooklength, size 2 hook..who needs 5lb hooklengths and groundbait. :D ..went quiet after this with one suspecteddropped bass breaking the routine
