me- thin lipped mullet, pollack, coalies, rock gobbies, black goby, shanny, giant goby and gurnard

yeah first a golden grey then a thin lipped and a giant goby. got my target amount of species for the year. was even surprised to get the gurnard.

i take it that it was a thin lipped mullet. it was a thick lipped, mouth was different and the gills weren't as far apart as a thick lipped mullet and wasnt a golden grey as didnt have any golden specks on the gills. wasnt big around about 2Ibs.
barin in mind this time last year i had never hooked a mullet.

thick lipped have a narrower space between gill covers than thin lipped and golden grey.thins and goldens have a pointier head.i`ve had plenty of thick lipped with "golden" spots on gill covers,these spots will appear just about everywhere on the fish
the photo below is of the gill spacing of a thick lipped,the spacing on thin lipped and goldens would be atleast twice that

it may have been a a thick lipped. but i thought its lips were a bit thin for one but i can never tell the difference but i'm nearly sure the goby was a giant goby.

yesterday i was down targettin the mullet didnt see any around the lagoon or the pier so i walked along beech, saw a couple around the rocks at low tide on the millisle side of the borstal. gave 'em a go but only missed 2 or 3. but mite go down 2morro or friday as there are some i would say are 6Ibs+. some about 2or 3Ibs
