Report:
Having fished this particular mark on the ebb the previous week and caught a nice flounder, we decided to try it on the flood. Things took a little while to get going, but after a half hour or so, I had a small turbot of just under a 1lb on board. Great to see them making an appearance again in the Cork area. I cast out again and 5 minutes later the rod tip trembled in a similar manner. Just as I went to pick up the rod, the rod tip buckled over and I just managed to grab it as it came out of its rest. My first thoughts were bass, but after a bit of a scrap I was delighted to see my second Gilt Head and a bonus turbot of around a pound on the second snood! Time to buy a lotto ticket on the way home I think!

We fished on for another couple of hours in the hope of another one, but that was the only GHB we had. I managed another turbot and a wrasse before we left. All in all a great day out and I'll definitely be back to this particular mark. We weighed the GHB later and it was 1.14kg. Not quite a specimen, but a good size non the less.
