Report:
Was excited to go fishing around day break on Sat AM - reason: While coming home from pollack fishing during the week I stopped at a beach for a look, it was dusk and just after HT. I was delighted to see what I take were bass casually feasting on sprats that were also being washed up in small numbers. I tried with a lure, to no avail, then during the week I happened to notice Cortaz mentioning how difficult it is to get sprat feeding bass to take, I was combining this info with some advice from Jim Hendrick about fishing with half macks. So I left armed with bait, but as is so often the case there was no sign whatsoever of a bass showing up - so another bass blank.
I then tried to tempt out a pollack or two from the spot that was lively during the week, there - nothing also, so off I went home, down hearted and any the wiser??? :?
