People:me
Duration:3 hours 18.30-21.30
Tide:last 3 of ebb but it didn't move a lot
Weather:calm clear evening
Bait:frozen peeler
dd
Rigs:pulley pennell
Results:1 smoothie
Report:Some frozen peeler in the fridge so i decided on another trip south for what i think would be my last chance this year at catching my first decent smoothie. Arrived a bit early as it was still bright sunshine with a lot of families still about. As the sun set the families disappeared and i was left with the beach to myself. Fished with 2 rods both baited with the peeler and hadn't a lot to show after 2.5 hours, a few small knocks but nothing that could take my 3/0 pennell. With bait running out and the long drive home beckoning i got the only decent bite of the night just as it got really dark. After a relatively short struggle landed a small common smoothie about 2lbs. Still only a small fish but it beats my first starry by 1lb 14oz.
So delighted with the result and can't wait for another bash at a bigger one next year.

Thats the way i look at it Danny M. Yes i use a tripod and timer. Invested in a new fancy tripod for the camera which has legs you can bend and wrap around just about anything.

PMSL... bit like a young one I used to know
Great idea... just discovered that the same feature is on my own camera too (never noticed until I read this thread!). Must get a little tripod for it somewhere.
