People: Me

Duration:6-10:30 pm
Tide: turning, rising
Weather:calm sea, warm water
Bait:rag

Rigs: one rod, one hook, 120m+ out.

Results:me-1 lesser weaver, 1 small starry smooth hound

Very unproductive season only really saved by the wonderful night that was in it - large moon rising, stars, and warm water - and a couple of good knocks that I missed out on. Lost something reasonable when breakaway lead snagged on a weed bed when hauling in - suspect it was a small smooth hound.

I'd been trying out an old ABU Atlantic 484 and Ambassadeur 6000c - instead of my usual 484CS and 6500C - I'd brought back with me from the USA - first time out in Ireland - getting good casting results of 130-140 yards so or. I always suspect with Ennereilly though that's probably going out over the fish maybe?

No harm in varying the distances till you find where the fish are  or alternatively fish two rods mixing it up distance wise, its amazing how 20 yards either side off where your casting into can produce fish :)
