Weather:Grand - not effin raining

Bait: Live pollock

Rigs: Running boom, 5 foot trace to 3/0 hooks

Fishing out from the Lifeboat Inn pub (its the bright orange pub). I had a 9.8lb bass. Oh yes!

Fish went back alive too so hes still out there kids! Picture to follow on return north

where does the name kelloggs come from?

Not 100% sure man, hes been called that forever. His second name is Kelleher so I'm assuming its just an adjustment of that. Hes going out with my sister so I'd like to call him something altogether different

I thought somebody would bring that up alright! I had to run to the pier to get the certified scales form the shop. The pic was taken on the pontoon at the pier from where it was released. It was put back alive after nearly twenty minutes of being held against the tide.

Its a tough gig for the pollock alright undeniably. We also use joey macks which are incredible because when a bass is in the area the rod tip starts going absolutely ballistic!!

Delighted to hear ye did that mate, fair play to ye....!

I know Mike Ladle uses this alot and he catches bigger bass as a result.

Cheers boys, quite gratifying to see him swim off alright. If he'd been 4lbs I'd have taken him home unapologetically but as soon as somebody suggested that he could have been 25 years old there was no way I could take him home in good conscience.

25 years Old???

Im 100% with ye on that one. As far as im concerned, a fish that has lasted that long has earned the right to be given a second chance.
Also the thinking is that larger bass are females so if the fish is still spawning you have done you part there too.
