I have caught wrasse up and down the tide including specimens. There are marks at the Bridges of Ross accessible only an hour either side of Low Water. Other marks in Baltard Bay practically empty out at Low Water and are best from half flood up. There is no hard and fast rule. Our latest mark seems to fish best on the ebb.

Triggers should be there till end October if temp does not drop suddenly. I have found rafts of them washed up dead on Doughmore Strand after a sudden drop in temp in October and early Nov. Scuba Divers report them present at the mouth of caves in deep water during winter and say that the lovely silver and blue colour goes very dull.
