Report: .As my brother is coming home from Canada on thursday for a holiday and i'll be tied up for a fortnight with him, I Went to Bray Harbour to use up some lefover bait . I hadnt been there in a few months and though it was very exposed and cold on the wall i decided to try my luck  . Tide was out but starting to come back in. Some east europeans had been spinning for mackeral but caught nothing. First cast and i pulled in a yard of weed so i changed the grip lead for an ordinary one and that solved the weed problem . When i pulled in a couple of crabs i remembered what it was like here for them :? . I must have pulled in at least 20 in the two hours, i had 3 on one hook and 2 on the other at one point  Things picked up when i caught a tiny dab, so small that i could see through him( though he wasnt trying to put one over on me  ). How he got his gob arount the hook i'll never know. In between the crabs i got a nice whiting, biggest i've gotten in a while, and he gave a decent scrap coming in . This made my night and after catching another smaller one , i called it a night and went home. I'll come back again on a milder night, though you can nearly fish out of the car here   . Top tip,,,,,,reverse down the pier and then you can drive straight out when it gets dark,,,,dont do it the other way round,,,,,i did once    Heres some pics of some small fish as i'm sure youre all fed up of seeing big ones

I thought that looked like a pollock alright from the curved lateral line.

Crabs can drive you insane - when they are as bad as that the only thing to do is use peeler crab as bait - they will eventually eat that too but it takes them a bit longer to find it giving you the chance of a fish before the little feckers devour it.

Hey, your not the only one (I've done it more than once...I'm a slow learner  ), its extremely difficult.....or should that be dangerous, to try to reverse down the pier on your way out, especially when its dark, raining etc.

Nice to see the pics of the harbour at LW, I've never seen the place that empty of water before
