People:jack, boycie and myself
Duration:9-12
Tide:ebbing
Weather: small surf
Bait: crab, rag,lug,razor,mack and sandeel
Rigs:mainly flappers
Results:5 bass, 3 flounder and 1 turbot
Report:just bass from a nice little session on one of my bass marks in wicklow, jack had his first and second bass on his first and second cast, boycie followed with a 3 bass, 1 flounder and a turbot in a small succession of casts and i managed to pull out two flounder towards the end of the session, the tides where way off to be honest , so if we arrived earlier we could have had more but a drive thru in makee-d's beckoned, conditions could have been rougher, all in all not to bad

Hey eric What were the bass taking, was it a cocktail or just rag....cause the guy in the bait shop in wicklow said the bass seem to like the rag this year....

rag, lug, crab and sandeel got the bass, pretty much whatever they found on the hook, didn't seem to have a preference

Hi Eric,
Fish wicklow lots for Bass and know it like the back of my hand.
Dont need to know the mark at all, just some stats.
Was it evening or morning when you fished.?
How far down the eb was the tide..? ( Two hours after high and falling etc)
I keep a log of all Bass I catch and want to try to build a clearer picture of when Bass feed in wicklow.
I am finding that many of the fish I catch are either side of low tide and surprisingly a lot fall to mussel etc..
Anyway if you could let me know i'd appreciate it.
PM me if you dont want to share on board.
cheers

Fishing Wicklow for a couple of years and had not had a sniff of a Bass

, anyone feel free to point me
in the right direction.
Generally fish Greystones , Killiney and surrounding areas's.

I usually fish more south from those marks although I have fished Greystones before.
There are rocks down from the pier and in front of a school. I spun there one evening and had mackeral and pollock.
If there was a high tide at 6.30 am or similar I would try there with a popper for bass.
Would have to be a high early morning tide and if possible well before the sun was up.
Looks great and im sure Bass would visit the mark.
