People: Me and Jonny

Duration: 19:00 to 12:20

Tide: High water about 12:00

Weather:dd windy to start dying off with odd showers

Bait: fresh lug and rag and bought in herring
dd
Rigs: 2 up 1 down with lead on a zip slider

Results: Me 5 lsd Jonny 2 lsd 2 flounder and 1 coalie

Report: We started off driving up the coast from Larne to have a look at a few marks but the weather put us off fishing any of them, so we decided to head to Whitepark Bay as this would probably provide some protection from the wind.

Got there and set up. Within about 10 minutes got the first rattle and brought in a nice dog. First 3 casts got me 3 dogs. I was quite pleased although i'd have liked to have pick up something else. Jonny got a small flounder on his first cast.

It went quiet for me then but Jonny got another small flounder and a coalie to keep us interested.

I then had a crackoff while casting. A bit too enthusiastic maybe!

Got myself sorted and ended up by picking up another couple of dogs. Best was almost 2.5 pounds and to round it off i got my lost gear back too.

All in all it was great crack and turned out to be quite a good night. We saw loads of gannets hitting fish all along the coast too but we havent been able to pick up any mackerel. Are there any along the Antrim coast?

Good report Jammy. I heard some macks were caught at Waterfoot Pier on Saturday afternoon.
