Report: it was off to a new mark for us today, and a run up the co down coast was in order. we arrived before dawsey and got set up with a rod each for conger and a rod each to target the wrasse on the float. jordan got things off to a start with a good size female corkwing wrasse then dawsey arrived and started with the float and a rod set up for conger. a couple of hours passed with only the occasional nibble and i reset my float rig to a 2 hook flapper loaded with mack and squid cast at distance. jordan stuck with the float and dawsey set up the 2 hook flapper rig and fished at his feet producing the biggest fish of the day. a nice 2lb 1/4 oz ballen wrasse, his new personal best  from 1pm to 4 pm bites were coming thick and fast as we neared high tide. both jordan and dawsey got constant hits on the top and bottom while my bait at distance was left untouched :x but i thought i would stick with it to see if anything was out there  then the pollock turned up with both jordan and dawsey getting 2 each and jordan got a coalie to boot. meanwhile my bait remained untouched  but hey, you can't catch all the time    . so as it turned out i was guillie and photographer for the day      but i did'nt mind there were still fish being caught and new personal bests recorded. the odd thing was that all 3 conger rods never got so much as a knock. they were at an ideal deep water spot at the opening of a small cave, and i chucked a couple of chopped up mack in as ground bait too. but it was a great days fishing at another new mark and i was the only one to blank     i reckon you have to have the occasional blank to make you appreciate the days when the fish are plentyfull
