Report: Having spent most of July out in a boat, decided we'd better get back to the shore for a session.
I arrived down after a spot of domestic work, to find Pete a double shot of flounder to the good.
Fishing just behind the second breaker with liquified frozen rag and mack strip he was killing me, bringing in another 5 flounder (biggest around 40cm) in an hour whilst nothing was touching my similarly placed baits.
Being the hungry chap that he is, he headed off about 11 to get his chips on the way home, kindly leaving me the rag and a couple of other frozen bits and pieces.
Determined I wasn't leaving without a fish, I changed tactics slightly, firing out a couple of razor baits as far as I could manage on one rod and keeping the other one close in. About 11.45 I was getting disillusioned and was just about to pack up when my distance rod started jumping around. I tried to pull into the fish, but my line was slack, as I wound in I realised it was very slack and that the fish was running into shore. My line didn't go tight again until it was about 5yds out and I could see that I was connected to a bass of around 3lbs. Delighted. Quick pic, popped him back, and fired out another bait as far as I could.
Finally managed a small flounder at about 12.30 and with my headlamp failing I headed off.
