Report:We headed to mark one at around 5:30 and were greeted by a stiff breeze :( but decided to have a go anyway.I opted for my float rod while Colin used the fly rod.The wind died just enough to make fishing quite nice but for some strange reason we hardly saw a mullet :? There had been hundreds every day for the past week except today
We packed up and headed for mark two where i`ve been catching every day for the past 4 days :) I stopped along the way to get my car MOT`d then i was all set for the next session. We both went for fly rods, and i found a little white dry fly which i trimmed so it would sink,i was hoping the mullet were still feeding on the small bits of bread like yesterday.I gave a similar fly to Colin but the pratt left it in the car  and had to make do with a piece of artificial bread which fortunately sank slowly after he trimmed it a bit.
Loads of mullet around but they didn`t hang around like the other days so fishing was a bit frantic as we tried to catch some before they disapeared.Colin had missed one as i arrived which gave us some hope.We followed the fish chucking our flies at them and throwing them free bread to try to keep them still.
Finally i had a pluck on the little furry fly but i missed it :( all was not lost as i didn`t have to wait long for the next fish to grab it.This one didn`t come off and put up a great fight on my new fly rod, which was being well and truely christened :D at first i thought it was a small fish of around 2lb but it turned out to be a very nice 4lb mullet, the same size as my first fly caught mullet last year.A quick photo and it was back in the water.
We both missed a couple of fish before they moved away.A great end to a very quiet day.
