Sat Jul 26, 2008 2:34 pm

People: Me

Duration: 9.00 pm - 12.45 am

Tide: HW at 11.15 pm

Weather: Calm, very light southerly breeze, mostly clear, mild

Bait: Razor, king rag, sandeel, mackerel head

Rigs: 3/0 pennel, two hook flappers (various hook sizes from 4 to 3/0)

Results: 3 dogfish

Report: As it was a very calm I decided to head back to the new rock mark I fished a couple of times earlier in the week. I was planning on doing some plugging before dark but the water was still very cloudy after the wind on Wednesday/Thursday. Set up two rods with various bait and made a half hearted attempt a plugging for a while but just snagged floating weed.

The bait rods were quite until after dark then timid bites started - missed a few bites then got the first dogfish - taken on razor tipped with a sliver of sandeel.

Two more dogfish followed - again the preferred bait was razor tipped with sandeel segments.

The ragworm was untouched - or sucked off the hook.

I had a bite on the mackerel head but on the retrieve the weight must have snagged and I lost the rig plus whatever had taken a fancy to my mack head

I lost a few rigs and weights and one shockleader due to snags.

After I got the third dogfish I decided to call in a night.

Unfortunately I forgot to bring the camera again :x
The second time I have done that this week!!!
