as it says above were to fish heading out with 2 newstarts want good spot low tide softish bottom dont want a tackle graveyard. want them to come back

Hi Pookie.
A safe bet for novices is to stick to fishing a pier because even if their casting isn't up to scratch there is always a good chance of catching fish by dropping a bait straight down in front of them.Carrickfergus pier normally fishes well for small whiting and Codling but as i haven't fished here for about a year i don't know how it's fishing at the minute.Take your Conger gear as you never know what might turn up.Tight lines mate.
