People: Papa Smirf and myself
Duration: 12-5pm
Tide:HW 8.30pm
Weather:windy
Bait:mack sandeel squid
Rigs:various
Results:zero nothing unless you can count weed
Report: We were hoping to fish little killary but when we got there we couldnt fish it due to someone putting a line of pots about 10yards from the rocks :(
Decided to head over to lettergesh even if we didnt have any lug. Got there and we both had cast out only to spend 15mins taking weed of our lines. Decided to have a break for about 45mins - Ray needed more tea :) Started fishing again when the weed had settled down but we got nothing other then sunburned. All baits came back untouched.

Dont worry about it. It will be checked - we have contacts in the area for most of the summer :)

Fished it last night for a few hours, between the pots - damn awkward places  .
Conditions were remarkably calm, considering the weather in Galway earlier. Despite the calm sea, no ray showing. There were any amount of dogs there. Was kept busy with just the one rod - every 10mins the thing was going. (Mind you, the ray might have been there but just couldn't get a look in with the dogs  ). Few pollack jumping at close range also...

your putting in some hours this weather martin!
not tempted to spin for a large pollack - or would it be impossible with the pots?

It would have been possible last night as conditions were good, and there's a good gap between the pots. Was half tempted to drop a float at the base of the rocks where the pollack were active, but to be honest, the dogs were keeping me busy and didn't even bother with the second rod in the end... Moved up to 3/0 and 4/0 hooks in the quest for the big ray, but the dogs just gulped the lot
As for putting in the hours, someones got to keep the flag flying in the West when everyone else has fecked off to the East in search of other species and competition prizes
