People: Just me
Duration: Around an Hour
Tide: No idea
Weather: Foggy
Rigs: Bucktail jigs and poppers
Results: 1 striped bass.
Report: Went to the beach near where Im staying and started spinning along the beach kept getting snagged on the weed and was getting hung up quite a lot. Eventually found a patch where I could spin freely after a few cast I hooked into the fish very close in only around 10 yards out was expecting screaming reels and big runs because it was a good sized fish. But must have caught him by suprise as he came in fairly quickly. Very happy first bass ever hopefully I can get one when I get home. Over here they love bucktail jigs and use them for everything they put a jelly worm up the hook as an extra attractor. Hopefully I can get a few more now. :D

Well done Jack. Its always nice to get a new species and particularly when on vacation! Did you need to get a licence? You need them for sea fishing in California so I'm not sure if its the same for the east coast.

Can you post a photo of a bucktail rig, complete with jellyworm? :?: well done on the striper by the way. 8)

Here is the bucktail jig. You just thread a jelly worm up the shank of the hook for a bit more movement and attraction.

You dont need a licence over here Deno to fish in the sea. There are very strict size limits here though and im sure there are people who check about the place.
