People: me
Duration: 1100-1500
Tide: last hour of rising slack to dropping
Weather: sunny and a little windy
Bait: rag/mack/launce/feathers
Rigs: three hook flappers
Results: 3 dogs, 1 plaice, 2 corkwing wrasse, 1 launce, 1 sea scorpion
Report: fished the area yesterday on the spur of the moment for an hour with just feathers and launce, my mate caught launce and i blanked, was getting decent bites dogs i suspect but had the missus nagging to leave after an hour, so i swore an early return with bait. went to work today and got off extra early due to a tecnicallity fishing was the only option armed myself with some rag mack and sandeel and of i went for revenge. fishing started slow with nothing going near the mackerel, sand eel so i left it out and fished tight in for wrasse an hour later i had two corkwing in the bag they seemed to be bite shy not the usual wrasse behaviour i still nothing on the main rod i was targeting dogs as i havent had one yet this year and wasnt getting bites so i dropped my bait size and next cast had a small plaice  . decideded to move around the bend a bit as thats where i had the dog bites yesterday. whacked out the line and nothing. decided to feather in launce for bait and after a couple of casts had a large one  another species for this year. retrieved my line and put some fresh launce on and cast out, bang straight into a doggy  first of the year...! 3 species i hadnt got already so now i could relax. lost two traces in my new ground due to kelp so shifted 20 metres and cast again bang another dog then my line snaps on the retrieve :( rigged up again and whacked it out. decided to target wrasse on other rod but nothing tide was dropping at this stage but there was a general lack of wrasse overall they must be bite shy after the weekend. was moving acroos the rocks and saw a lil fish dart under a ledge in a small rockpool decided id see what it was in the hope of another species size ten hook and a piece of sandeel later and i soon had a sea scorpion bout 8 cm wriggling on the rock. rod started bouncing with another dog so i decided id call it a day retrieved my dog and pulled in a kelp stalk with my snapped off line wrapped around it unclipped my trace returned dog two and tied on the snapped line to see if it would come in now it did with a doggy in tow :P . decided to quit while i was ahead. well chuffed 5 species and 3 of them new this year beats work any day. 8)
